This airport serves the City of Santiago de Compostela and is also used by people travelling to A Coruna which is 75 kms away. Santiago de Compostela Airport is situated 10 kilometres north east of the city centre on the N-547 road to Lugo.
It is located in Lavacolla which is a town in the outskirts of Galicia's capital city, Santiago de Compostela. The Christian pilgrimage route of the Way of St. James (El Camino de Santiago) passes by the airport.
